Kylie Alesso is a multi-hyphenate actress, writer, filmmaker, comedian, and singer, with too much energy for one person. As an academic and graduate of UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, she starred in many roles on stage and screen. Most recently, she wrote, produced, and starred in the short film Just Lie to Me, which premiered at the Oscar Qualifying festival LA Shorts and went on to have a successful festival run with nominations in multiple categories. The film, featuring her vocals on the score, exemplifies Kylie’s grounded acting and deeply personal dialogue-driven writing.
In addition to acting, she’s performed as the frontwoman in several musical acts and curated a vast repertoire of live projects in L.A., San Francisco, and New York– including her one-woman musical comedy show 27 & Dead. At UCLA, she was a member of the award-winning comedy collective The Wait List, with sketch and short film work showcased at Sundance, Cannes, The Laugh Factory, and IO West. Kylie’s unique voice lends itself to honesty in storytelling that spans many mediums and celebrates vulnerability in both high comedy and drama. Kylie is currently based in Los Angeles, where she is acting and developing many projects, including the feature-length version of her short film.
